A Preview of the Upcoming Workshop for Global Nuclear Leaders
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Regis Matzie who will speak at the next American Nuclear Society Connecticut Section Dinner Meeting on Wednesday, December 12th 2012. This talk will present a preview of plans to advance a New Safety System Construct for the Nuclear Industry.
In response to the tragic events at Fukushima Dai-ichi, ASME formed a presidential task force to determine what should be done to ensure the long-term viability of nuclear power globally. The results of this initiative were published in the report, “Forging a New Nuclear Safety Construct” that proposes a set of planned systems to ensure nuclear plants are designed, constructed, operated, and managed to prevent societal disruption caused by radioactive releases from accidents, using an all-risk approach. An ASME workshop in December 2012 will invite global nuclear leaders to develop a framework of activities and concrete plans to advance this new construct. Our speaker, Dr. Regis Matzie, will provide reaction from the global community to the proposed New Nuclear Safety Construct.
We will be meeting at the Dakota Steak House & Tavern of Rocky Hill at 1489 Silas Deane Highway in Rocky Hill, CT at 6PM. All of the details are provided this flyer: 20121212 Speaker Meeting Announcement.
So please save this date on your calendars and RSVP with your contact information by December 10th to Stephen Szarek at 860-731-6313 or email@example.com.
See you there!
