ANS Connecticut Section Speaker Meeting Presentation for June 22nd, 2011
Regis Matzie, Executive Consultant at Westinghouse LLC, spoke at the ANS CT Section Speaker Meeting on June 22nd, 2011. His presentation, entitled “A Study of New Nuclear Baseload Generation in New England – Scope, Issues, Perceptions and Results to Date” is available here.
An assessment of nuclear vs. combined cycle natural gas as new baseload generation integrated into the New England grid is ongoing. Preliminary findings including survey results and comparative evaluations will be presented. Evaluations have included advances in nuclear technologies, economic impacts and the status of spent fuel in Connecticut.
